Our Services
Chimneys take the full force of wind and rain, so cracked pots, loose bricks and worn flaunching are common. Left alone, these faults let water into the stack and down into your rooms. Our chimney repairs page explains the problems we fix and how we reach them.
If a chimney is leaning, badly cracked or has lots of crumbling bricks, a repair will not hold. Taking it down to a sound course and rebuilding it from there is the lasting answer. Find out what chimney rebuilding involves and when it makes sense.
Mortar between the bricks softens over time, letting rain track down behind the render and into the house. Raking out the old mortar and pressing in fresh mix closes that route before it causes further damage. Read about chimney repointing and what to look for.
A chimney that is no longer used can become a source of damp and a target for birds. Taking the stack down to roof level and making the hole weathertight removes the problem cleanly. See our chimney stack removal page for how the job is done.
Lead flashing sits at the join between a chimney stack and the roof slope. When it lifts, cracks or corrodes, water follows the gap straight into the house. Our chimney flashing repairs page covers the signs to watch for and how we fix them.
A cowl fitted over the pot keeps rain, birds and downdraught out of the flue. They come in styles to suit chimneys that are still in use and those that have been sealed off. Visit our chimney cowl fitting page to see which type works best for you.

Repoint if the mortar between the bricks is crumbling but the bricks themselves are sound. Rebuild if the stack is leaning, large sections of brick have failed or the damage goes deeper than the pointing. We check the whole chimney before advising, so you get the right fix.
Most chimney work needs some form of access equipment, and that is often a chimney scaffold or a full scaffold. It keeps the work safe and lets us reach every side of the stack. Smaller jobs may only need roof ladders. We tell you what is needed when we price the job.
It can be. A chimney you do not use still needs repairs and repointing over the years. Removing the stack and tiling over the gap takes that upkeep away. If the stack is shared with a neighbour, the Party Wall Act may apply. We explain the options before any work in Ramsgate.
